ISRAEL HERE / LAND OF MIRACLES [The Company welcomes us, telling us that this will be a story of love and
Israel. Suddenly the music becomes dark, and our focus goes to
another area. A Palestinian suicide bomber dons his explosive vest and says a prayer. Then
the music brightens once more, and lights come up on a Jerusalem market in the 1990s. Natives and tourists
celebrate the diversity and history of Israel. The bomber is in the crowd.]
NOTE: As this number ends there is a
LOUD EXPLOSION.
MY LAND [Lillah, the
Palestinian militant girl, resents the Jewish soldiers eyeing her, and
expresses her defiance.]
TWO EAGLES [Lillah rejects the
attentions of Moshe, the Israeli soldier.]
ANGELS OF HEAVEN
[A Mufti convinces Hussein, a poor youth, to
become a suicide bomber].
THE SKIRMISH ON THE ROOF [Instrumental.
In a gunfight, Lillah's brothers kill Moshe's buddy, Raful. They are
about to shoot Lillah as well when Moshe fires on the brothers, killing them.
CHAIN OF LIFE
[Rabbis and Arab notables remark about the
futility of resisting Fate.]
JUST ME NOW
[Lillah, facing an honor-killing, flees her
family and finds herself all alone in the world.]
LOVE COMES MARCHING
[Moshe is torn by his love for Lillah the
woman, and his enmity for her as an
Arab.]
NIGHT OF JERUSALEM
[The Holy City sings to its inhabitants in a
mystical nocturne.]
ABDALLAH'S LAMENT
[An old Arab sheik remembers a time when Jews
and Arabs lived as good neighbors.]
OUR LOVE WILL SHINE
[Moshe and Lillah vow to remain together,
facing whatever life brings.]
AND THEN CAME LOVE
[At Lillah's trial, which is to rule on
her religious conversion, the participants realize how Love changes one's
course.]
FINAL SCENE

LILLAH'S PRAYER
[Instrumental. Lillah, now realizing
that she is a Jew and Moshe is an Arab, prays to God (and Allah!) for their future and the
future of their country.]
