Tenants Alliance of Glenn Gardens

Welcome to the official site of the Tenants Alliance!

Click for Panoramic Photos of Glenn GardensThe Tenants Alliance of Glenn Gardens is the officially recognized tenant organization of Glenn Gardens, a resident apartment complex on the Westside of Manhattan in New York City. This site provides information and intercommunication among the residents.

Glenn Gardens was completed in 1976, originally established under New York's "Mitchell-Lama" program for middle-income people. In 2003, the building was converted into a regular commercial 'market rent' property, and was taken out of the Mitchell-Lama program. Most of the residents, however, remained in the complex after the conversion. This was made possible by a ground-breaking plan, negotiated by tenants and landlord. This highly successful agreement became a model for other New York buildings facing similar circumstances.

The Alliance was formed shortly after the conversion was completed. New Bylaws were shaped and adopted to meet the new needs and conditions of post-Mitchell-Lama realities.

I welcome you to our site, and hope that you will contact the Alliance should you need information or assistance. The Alliance is a young, vital organization, dedicated to making the lives of all Glenn Gardens residents more pleasant and problem-free.
